Human Resources

These are some common HR questions, if you don’t find your answer please contact [email protected]

When can I enroll in 401K?

Employees can enroll in the plan at any time. However, STI only allows entry into the plan at the start of each quarter. After your enrollment is completed, STI will start deducting contributions at the start of the following quarter.

Where can I enroll and manage my 401K?

Enrollments, changes, and rollovers can be handled online at www.principal.com.

*Changes to your employee contribution will not go into effect until the start of the following quarter. The exception to this is to change your contribution to 0%, that change is allowed at any time during the year.

Why did my 401K contribution stop?

You may have contributed over the IRS allowed contribution level. If you are age 50 or over, you have the option to enroll in a catch-up contribution. If you are eligible for the catch-up, you MUST enroll in the catch up EACH year.

Where can I locate my insurance plan information?

Information on the insurance plans you enrolled in are available in Paycom. Once logged in, the information is under Benefits and then Current Benefits. When that screen pulls up, there will be a little paper icon on the right side of each plan, click there for plan information. If additional informaiton is needed, please contact Human Resouces.

How does the APL (GAP) Plan work

The APL (American Public Life) GAP Plan is a deductible reimbursement plan. It works along side your Blue Cross $5000 High Deductible Health Plan. The provider will need both the APL and the Blue Cross ID Cards and will file the claim to both insurances. Blue Cross will be the primary coverage and APL will be the secondary coverage. If there is a covered expense that was applied to the BCBS deductible, APL will pay the provider up to $4,500 annually towards the deductible.

* However, APL will NOT cover anything for office visits or prescriptions or dental services, nor will it pay towards services that are not covered benefits under the Blue Cross plan.

When will I get my cards to show that I have insurance coverage?

Medical and APL Plan cards will be mailed to your home address within 7 to 10 business days of your enrollment. The STI vision plan through Guardian does not send out ID Cards, instead enrolled employees can log in online at www.vsp.com and create an account. The Delta Dental cards are also found online at www.deltadentalok.com. If you have an urgent need for an ID Card for an appointment or prescription, please contact Human Resources to obtain a temporary ID card.

Where can I track my benefits card (FSA, HSA) balance?

You can log in at https://bri.wealthcareportal.com/Page/Home and set up your account. There is also an app that can be downloaded to track your expenses.

What is the Dependent Life Insurance Benefits age limit?

Dependents are eligible for dependent life insurance benefits until they are 21 years of age.

Who do I contact about my benefits?

Besides our online options, contact the STI Human Resources department.

What is my COBRA benefits timeline?

COBRA provides coverage for up to 18 months after your loss of insurance. But, if an individual becomes disabled while being employed at STI, full-time COBRA can the coverage be extended to 29 months, but end at 36 months.
